Already Done?

The other day I heard someone complain that everything cool had already been done before. This is true, I admit, but I think that's kind of the point. We shouldn't just give up on life just because it's already been done before. If we all had that kind of mentality then we might as well all just kill ourselves. But I'm not about to kill myself, just because someone else, who's long been dead, had already done all of the things that I've done and all of the things I want to do in the future. That sounds so depressing. So we shouldn't go around thinking that we couldn't possibly do something that hasn't been done before. We should take what's been done and make it our own.
